US-China relations: Xi to visit Washington from 23 to 25 September for talks with Trump
Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to travel to the United States from 23 to 25 September. He’s set to meet President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday. Before his visit, top US and Chinese officials concluded what they have described as highly productive and constructive discussions in New York. Both sides agreed to establish a new AI dialogue, including a mechanism to notify each other about related incidents that could pose national security threats. They also talked about plans to – quote: "operationalise" the Board of Trade. That's a process first to identify non-strategic goods that could qualify for lower tariffs. But differences remain over issues such as critical minerals, agricultural purchases as well as US technology.
