Beverage Container Return Scheme: 33m cans, bottles collected; new sorting facility in operation
More than 33 million cans and bottles have been collected under the Beverage Container Return Scheme, or BCRS. A new automated facility unveiled on Monday (21 Sep) shows what happens to them after they are returned. It's currently running at nearly half its maximum daily capacity and is preparing to handle more returns when the scheme is fully rolled out next month. Eugene Chow reports.
