Philippine Senate lowers voting threshold to convict VP Duterte in impeachment trial
The Philippine Senate has lowered the minimum number of votes needed to convict Vice President Sara Duterte for impeachment. The Constitution requires two-thirds of all members of the Senate to convict an impeached official. The original slate of 24 senator judges meant a threshold of at least 16 was needed to convict. But only 20 judges can now vote, with two-thirds of that technically bringing the threshold down to 14. Jhesset Enano reports.
