Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari on Health Sciences Authority (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill

06:11 Min

Amid a planned consolidation of functions between the Ministry of Health and Health Sciences Authority (HSA), officers who will be transferred are being provided with clear statutory protection, preserving their employment terms. Welcoming this in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 9), NMP Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, who is General Secretary of the Amalgamated Union of Public Employees, said he hopes the existing terms “will be treated as the floor and not the ceiling”. He said the officers are bringing valuable institutional knowledge and specialised expertise into an authority that will depend on their skills for years to come. The transition should be an opportunity to recognise this, invest in their development and give them clear pathways to learn, contribute and progress with HSA, he said.
