PacificLight's S$1.2 billion hydrogen-ready power plant to begin operations in 2029

A new S$1.2 billion hydrogen-ready power plant is coming up on Jurong Island, creating 50 jobs in operations and maintenance. Ready by 2029, PacificLight's 670 megawatt power plant will be the first in Singapore to pair a gas turbine with large-scale battery storage, making it more reliable and efficient to keep up with growing energy demands. It will be able to generate enough electricity to power about 1.2 million four-room flats. Nadirah Zaidi reports.
