New Delhi court grants default bail to seven foreigners accused of training rebels
A New Delhi court has granted default bail to seven foreign nationals accused of illegally entering Myanmar to train ethnic armed groups in drone warfare. A US national and six Ukrainians have been allowed to leave India for one month to meet their families, before returning. The seven were arrested by India's National Investigation Agency in March under anti-terrorism laws. The group allegedly crossed the border to train and supply European drones to Myanmar-based rebels. They were charged with violations of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, after the agency cited a lack of evidence that their actions affected India's national interest.
