Desalination in Singapore: Trial aims to halve energy used in seawater pre-treatment
Singapore could eventually use less energy and space to turn seawater into drinking water. A trial at Tuas is testing a different way of preparing seawater for desalination which could halve the energy used during this pre-treatment stage. National water agency PUB says if it proves reliable and cost-effective, the technology could eventually be deployed across Singapore's desalination plants. Eugene Chow reports.
